GOLD AWARD FOR SAFETY
Sea Ray takes safety very seriously, as shown by the Brunswick Corporation Gold Award for Safety received by the Knoxville plant in April of 2003. The award celebrated the plant’s success in achieving 1,000,000 hours without an accident. The example set by Knoxville leads the way for other Brunswick plants and the marine industry as a whole. Other Sea Ray manufacturing facilities have also been recognized for their outstanding safety records. The Tellico plant in Vonore, Tenn., and the Sykes Creek facility in Merritt Island, Fla., have been awarded Brunswick’s Bronze Safety Award for more than 250,000 hours worked accident-free. Furthermore, Sea Ray’s Product, Development and Engineering team has worked 431,312 hours without a lost-time accident, which is well over one year. The group has already surpassed the minimum requirements to achieve the Bronze Safety Award and has met 86 percent of the necessary requirements to achieve the Silver Safety Award.
